Job Description

The laboratory of A/Prof Victor Yu at the National University of Singapore (NUS) is currently recruiting a committed Research Assistant to join their team.


In this role, the successful candidate will assist the senior team members in investigating the role of MOAP-1 in aging, senescence and lipid metabolism using cell lines as well as mouse models.


The main responsibilities will include but not limited to the following:
• Perform assigned tasks and support all aspects of the ongoing research projects.
• Assist with mice husbandry and animal experimentation/procedure.
• Perform other duties required to support the organisation of the laboratory, including but not limited to purchasing, stock-taking, inventory and compliance with safety and ethical regulations.
• Perform other related duties incidental to the work described therein.

Qualifications

• Qualifications / Discipline: Bachelor’s Degree in Science.

• Skills:
- A good team player
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Other desirable attributes: self-motivated, organized, efficient, and flexible.

• Experience: Prior experience working in a research lab setting in life sciences will be given priority in the selection process, especially those with prior experience with cell cultures, DNA, protein or mouse work.
