Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain the organisation's storage infrastructure, including SAN, NAS, and other storage technologies
- Monitor storage systems to ensure optimal performance, availability, and capacity planning
- Develop and manage data backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and business continuity
- Perform regular backups and test data recovery processes to verify their effectiveness
- Identify opportunities for storage optimisation, including deduplication, compression, and tiering, to improve efficiency and reduce costs
- Implement and enforce storage security policies and ensure compliance with industry regulations and internal security standards
- Participate in security audits and risk assessments related to storage systems
- Investigate and resolve storage-related issues and incidents in a timely manner, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations
- Maintain accurate documentation of storage configurations, procedures, and incident reports
- Generate regular reports on storage system performance and capacity utilisation
To succeed in this Storage Engineer role, you will require at least five years of experience as a Storage Engineer.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- Minimum of five years' experience in storage engineering, preferably in the financial industry
- Proficiency in DELL/EMC ISILON, HPE XP7, 3PAR and Brocade Fabrics
- In-depth knowledge of storage technologies, including SAN and NAS
- Professional certifications in SAN, NAS or Fabric is a must
- Experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions
- Strong understanding of security and compliance requirements in a financial setting
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
