Vessel IT Executive

1. Oversee the maintenance, upgrade, and security of all IT systems onboard vessels, ensuring smooth operations.
2. Manage onboard network infrastructure including LAN, WAN, and satellite connections, ensuring uninterrupted connectivity.
3. \Implement and maintain cybersecurity measures to protect vessel systems and data from cyber threats.
4. Coordinate software installations, updates, and hardware repairs to ensure optimal performance of all IT equipment onboard.
5. Data Management: Manage data storage, backup, and retrieval systems, ensuring the integrity and availability of critical data onboard.
6. Communication Systems: Manage communication systems onboard, including email, VoIP, and other communication platforms.
7. Training and Support: Provide training and technical support to vessel crew members to ensure they can effectively use IT systems onboard.
8. Vendor Management: Coordinate with external vendors for IT-related services, equipment procurement, and support as needed.
9. Compliance and Regulations: Ensure that IT systems onboard vessels comply with relevant regulations and industry standards, such as IMO regulations and ISM Code requirements.
10. Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Identify IT-related risks onboard vessels and develop strategies to mitigate them, ensuring the safety and security of onboard operations.

Requirements for a Vessel IT Executive:

1. Technical Expertise: Strong technical skills in IT infrastructure, networking, cybersecurity, and software/hardware maintenance.
2. Maritime Industry Knowledge: Understanding of the unique challenges and requirements of IT systems in the maritime industry, including knowledge of maritime communication protocols and regulations.
3. Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot IT issues onboard vessels and develop effective solutions in a maritime environment with limited resources.
4. Communication Skills: Effective communication skills to interact with vessel crew members, shore-based personnel, and external vendors.
5. Diploma in related Field with 3 to 4 years working experience in the maritime industy
