Job Description
- Operate the after-school centre (The Living Room) by supervising estimated 20 students in safe use of room
- Assist GEAR-UP team to refresh room and maintain equipment/devices/games by consolidating staff/student feedback into procurement list
- Organise and facilitate weekly programmes and activities such as table soccer, art, board games and other suggestions for GEAR-UP students and those who drop-in with goal to build rapport and connectedness with school
- Work with GEAR-UP team to develop programmes to enhance drop-in centre activities if necessary
- Provide guidance and mentorship for students with presenting issues through their challenges, to improve and develop their well-being, life skills and resilience
- Work with the Student Development Team or counsellor on identified students for interventions when necessary
- Support the running of other GEAR-UP programmes
Requirements
· Minimum diploma from a recognized polytechnic (or equivalent) in social work and/or mentoring, counselling-related discipline
Working hours
· Twice a week, Tuesday & Wednesday: 2.30pm to 5.30pm
· Duration per week: 6 hours, Total estimated hours: 144 hours
· Service not required on Saturdays, Sundays and gazetted public holidays
· Service may be required during school holidays
