Glencore Singapore Pte Ltd is a wholly owned subsidiary of Glencore International Plc. and engages in commodity trading, the Singapore office employs approximately 210 staff working from a single site.
We are seeking a motivated and driven individual who is a team player and can deliver under tight deadlines. Strong communication skills both written and verbal are a must. Candidates should also have an aptitude for numbers. On-the-job training will be provided and advancement will be possible.
The Traffic person is in-charge of logistics, finance, hedging, documentation and related matters. He/She works closely with the team colleagues and liaises with people in other departments and other offices around the world.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate and arrange containerized/bulk shipments of metal/chemicals and related warehousing activities;
- Coordinate overall product and information flow between customers, corporate head office and regional field offices;
- Negotiate Letters of Credit, prepare invoices and other standard trade documentation;
- Monitor client risk exposures and pricings for LME hedging purposes;
- Follow up closely with customers for payment and shipments related matters
- Other ad-hoc tasks on operations for business.
KEY COMPETENCIES/ SKILL SETS
- Able to demonstrate high level of trust, integrity and team work;
- Excellent communication skills, efficient and well-organized working habits;
- 2 years and above experience and detailed knowledge of import / export, International shipping and bulk/chemical tankers shipments preferred;
- Knowledgeable about Letters of Credit, shipping documents, inspection and insurance of bulk commodities preferred;
- Proficiency in written/spoken Vietnamese is preferred to liaise with Vietnamese speaking counterparts.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications;
- Able to travel from time to time (Mainly in South East Asia).
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- University degree or equivalent;
- Exposure to metals industry, shipping industry, commodity markets would be an advantage;
- 1 – 3 years experiences and detailed knowledge of import/export, International shipping and bulk/chemical tankers shipments preferred.
