Reporting to the Regional Compliance Lead, the incumbent is responsible for all compliance matters including but not limited to the following key responsibilities:
- Research, develop, implement and review regional compliance policies, procedures and guidelines to ensure compliance with relevant internal, legal and regulatory requirements.
- Partner and coordinate with regional colleagues to share area of expertise and best practices in resolving common issues and challenges.
- Maintain and enhance the existing compliance framework (i.e., how we set-up, run and maintain a compliance programme).
- Manage the regional whistleblowing platform.
- Lead and drive investigations of ethics and compliance matters. Provide guidance to the regional colleagues in developing and executing investigation work plans. Make independent determinations as to priority and timing of response or follow up.
- Ensure appropriate follow up regarding questions/issues that may arise. The foregoing requires the exercise of sound judgment with a high level of maturity, confidentiality and sensitivity.
- Drive the regional Third-Party Screening program.
- Develop creative compliance activities and support compliance initiatives in the region.
- Research and develop ethics and compliance training materials by providing relevant training and collaborate with the PICs of each Group Company to ensure the compliance with standards and regulations across the region
- Administrative support to Legal and Compliance activities (E.g. coordinating and managing the local and regional ledgers for Gift & Entertainment, coordinating the annual and ad-hoc COI declarations, and supporting the Global Legal Operations for the region).
- Support the coordination and planning of the Governance, Risk and Compliance Committee meetings.
- Support in managing and reporting of the regional whistleblowing platform.
- Perform and lead in other duties assigned by the Regional Compliance Lead.
Job Requirements:
- Degree holder in Law / Compliance or similar discipline.
- 8-10 years of relevant experience in the Compliance function or similar capacity (e.g. internal controls, legal, audit) in a global multi-national company environment.
- Demonstrates strong ability to think logically, analytically and critically. Ability to handle complex issues and approach them from multiple angles.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive data in a mature and professional manner.
- Self-starter with the ability to work effectively across culturally diverse teams and be a good team player.
- Ability to work independently in ambiguous and changing environments, along with strong listening collaboration and partnering skills, and resilience.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with customer-oriented mindset.
- Ability to engage with people/stakeholders at all levels in different cultures and social environments across the business.
- Proficient in English both written and spoken; any other language is a plus.
