Job Summary:
Coordinate with our regional & global commercial teams to support them with container freight services & products to meet our customer’s needs. Lead a team of pricing staff to liaise with international shipping lines to procure container freight rates & space for the specific required trade lane. Analyse ocean freight market trends. Prepare market reports. Joint customer product presentations with commercial teams to help grow our business.
Key functions:
- Leading a pricing team to work with our commercial organisation to support their ocean product needs. Help guide, build & exceed our regional trade commercial plans
- Ensure the team buy competitive ocean freight from shipping lines for specific trade lanes
- Managing and building relationships with key contacts within the shipping lines
- Manage our annual contractual ocean freight commitments with the shipping lines
- Key entry point between our company and the shipping lines to deal with service issues
Key KPI:
- Manage our carrier relationships
- Ensure we procure competitive ocean freight rates
- Secure sufficient weekly/monthly space on required lanes
- Carrier contract commitments
- Vol and AGP targets

- To give direction to ensure the pricing staff working under him/her are meeting their KPIs.
- Develop the staff through on the job training
Qualification
- University graduate
- 5-10 years of relevant shipping experience in Trade role or Procurement function in an international NVO.
- Language proficiency – English, Chinese
- Good written and verbal skills
- Proficient using MS office applications
Job size:
- Buy over 50,000 Teus of international ocean freight space per year.
