Job Description:
- Collaborate with a team of engineers to reviews /implements project/ job specification
- Understand client requirements and how they translate to engineering features
- Adopt design approach such as hypothesis generation, project design and planning, calculations, material preparation, characterisation and testing, compilation of results and analysis evaluation
- Initiate market research and propose design changes to the device to improve user experience: Compactness, durability, cost savings, efficiency
- Utilise CAD design to improve product performance, such as heat dissipation, reducing material volume and adherence to DFM/DFA principles.
- Develop technical documents and handbooks
- Provide technical advice to the team as required
- Provide technical assistance during acceptance at clients’ site
Job Requirements:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- Strong fundamental knowledge in mechanical design
- Able to work Independently under minimum supervision and exhibit proactiveness in learning
- Hands-on experience in drafting CAD drawing using design software such as Solidworks, AutoCAD or Autodesk Fusion 360 preferred
- Good knowledge in heat transfer and fluid dynamics
- Knowledge in product design and design methodologies including human factors in design
- Basic understanding of different production technologies such as sheet metal, milling and casting, moulding and 3D printing.
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving capability
- Good interpersonal, management and decision-making skills
