Position: Training Officer (Day Activity Centre)
To plan, teach, train, supervise, maintain and develop members to function adequately and independently in the areas of Activities of Daily Living, Community Living, Social and Recreational Skills.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Develop, plan, coordinate, and implement planned daily programme and its activities
- Daily supervision, assisting and monitoring members in the various activities both outside or within the centre, and ensuring safety of all members and volunteers
- Purchase and preparation of daily tea breaks and lunch for members and volunteers
- Support and evaluate growth of members and to plan appropriate development plans for members based on their needs and abilities with inputs from internal stakeholders as well as to develop programmes to support the member in his/her achievement of PDP (personal development plan)
- Assess new members on their trial, identify their needs and potential, and to write post trial evaluation report
- Carry out behaviour support plans
- Work with member’s families as required and to keep them updated regarding their child / ward progress
- Work with and train volunteers to better assist and engage members in their development
- Maintain administrative work such as daily attendance taking, records of daily programmes, temperature taking, monthly centre report, incident reports, etc.
- Any other duties as assigned
Qualification:
· Minimum O Levels/ Diploma Holders
Knowledge & Experience
· Good interpersonal and communication skills
· Computer literacy skills – MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Ability to plan and meet deadlines
- Team player
- Passion to work with persons with intellectual disabilities
