Responsibilities
- Responsible for managing nursing manpower, operating expenses and budget effectively to provide high quality patient care.
- Holistically assess, plan, implement, evaluate and guide staff in providing multifaceted medical-surgical and rehabilitative care for patient to achieve individual’s recovery goals
- Supervises and provides clinical guidance to the health care team
- Work with nurses to develop and implement clinical guidelines and protocols, conduct orientation and clinical skills development programmes and develop staff competencies
- Educates staff on the appropriate usage of resources and equipment to enhance quality of care
- Conducts continuous assessment and evaluation of staff’s clinical performance and professional conduct. Provides feedback and guides staff towards improvements of clinical and service performance
- Serves as a resource person and provides clinical expertise to the health care team on professional and nursing issues
- Acts as a role-model in clinical practice. Initiates clinical quality improvement and research activities to enhance patient care management and improve practices
Requirements
- Registered with the Singapore Nursing Board
- Degree/ Diploma in Nursing
- Post Basic/ Advanced Diploma will be an advantage
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- At least 2 years of relevant supervisory experience in an acute care hospital
