Job Description:
- Safely operate a Class 4 lorry to transport construction materials, equipment, and tools to designated locations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure roadworthiness.
- Load and unload materials with care, ensuring proper securing and handling of goods.
- Plan efficient routes to meet delivery schedules, taking into consideration traffic conditions and delivery requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and fuel consumption.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and traffic laws to ensure a safe working environment.
- Perform routine maintenance on the lorry, such as checking oil, water, and tire pressure.
Requirements:
- Valid Class 4 driving license with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience as a Class 4 Lorry Driver in the construction industry.
- Knowledge of traffic laws, safety regulations, and road signs.
- Physical fitness and the ability to lift and move heavy construction materials.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to meet tight delivery schedules.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Flexibility to work irregular hours and weekends if necessary.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
