In Group Operations, we manage the majority of the Bank’s operational processes and inspire to delight our business partners through multiple banking delivery channels.
Job Purpose:
Responsible for operational risk compliance and awareness for group IBGO across all locations. To drive and maintain oversight on key deliverables and timelines, primarily in the areas of operational risk metrics and forum deliverables that impact IBGO.
Key Accountabilities:
- Identify, assess, closely monitor and proactively manage emerging risks for IBGO, with a focus on key risk areas that impact IBGO such as Audit & Unit Self-identified issues, UDMA, MJE reductions and GLAO certification in forums.
- Perform Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) Testing on the PURE framework.
- Support the team’s deep dive and uplift of RCSA and risk control metrices.
- Monitoring and preparation of forum materials for IBGO management, review and report risk metrices. Ensure data accuracy, completeness and IBGO actions are addressed in a timely manner.
- Represent IBGO at risk forums and explain risk initiatives to stakeholders.
- Perform review of risk landscapes, identify control lapses, perform root cause analysis, highlight adverse trends for action and standardize best control practices across locations.
- Provide risk & control advisory to line managers/ location risk managers on control lapses and deep dive into root cause analysis, highlight adverse trends for action and standardize best control practices across locations.
- Manage regional risk & control projects for IBGO globally.
- Participate actively in the IBGO Risk Forum to effectively communicate key risk initiatives and control topics to location IBGO heads and risk managers.
- Perform regulatory submission reviews and assessments, ensuring data accuracy and completeness.
- Raise staff awareness on risk & control, and trainings provided where required.
- Leverage on data analytics to drive new risk management framework.
- Further support wider Reg IBGO COO team on other projects (i.e. NCA governance etc)
Requirements:
- University degree with minimum 5 – 10 years of experience working in financial institutions in a risk/ control capacity.
- Team player with good interpersonal skills to work with stakeholders at all levels in the organization.
- Able to deal with and navigate ambiguous situations.
- Hands on experience and good appreciation of operational risk management.
- Adequate understanding of regulatory environment in banking.
- Ability to deep dive into details whilst keeping sight of the big picture.
- Knowledge of banking, policies, processes, controls and systems.
- Good presentation skills.
