Research Scientist/Engineer, Mapping and Localization
At the role of Research Scientist/Engineer, Mapping & Localization, you will be involved in researching, developing, and deploying algorithms for environmental mapping & accurate positioning of cars; you will be able to interact with vehicle manufacturers and access state-of-the-art autonomous vehicle testing platforms in real testing environment; you will be expected to tackle a broad range of real-world localization problems and come out with robust solution to help ensure our vehicles are safely driving on the road.
Job Descriptions
- Design and implement High Definition 3D Mapping using LIDAR, Vision and/or GPS-INS systems.
- Design and implement real-time vehicle localization using LIDAR, camera and sensor fusion.
- Design and implement real-time vehicle localization via map matching.
- Calibration of multiple sensor setup on vehicle.
- Test algorithm on real-road driving.
- Write professional design and technical documentation.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience. Master’s degree and above will be an advantage.
- 2+ year experience in C++ software development, preferred on Linux platform.
- Strong knowledge on Lidar SLAM with real deployment experience, and/or, experience with Visual Odometry(VO), Visual-inertial Odometry(VIO), Visual SLAM.
- Good knowledge on 3D Reconstruction, SLAM, scan matching, ICP and Bundle Adjustment.
- Good knowledge on probabilistic theory, Kalman filter, particle filter, estimation, nonlinear optimization techniques.
- Experience with nonlinear solvers such as Ceres, g2o.
- Good knowledge on sensor characterization (e.g., error modelling, bias, stability etc.)
- Hands-on experience in sensor interfacing, data capture and synchronization.
- Experience in using version control tools such as Git.
- Able to work independently as team player.
- Strong problem solving, analytical and conceptual skills, with good communication skill.
