Responsibilities:
- Chartering operations: Manage the entire lifecycle of crude oil trading charters, including negotiation, execution, and post-fixture activities.
- Contract negotiation: Negotiate charter contracts with ship owners, brokers, and other relevant parties to secure optimal terms and conditions.
- Vessel selection and optimization: Collaborate with internal stakeholders to determine vessel requirements, select suitable vessels, and optimize vessel utilization.
- Freight rate analysis: Conduct market analysis to determine competitive freight rates and evaluate potential cost-saving opportunities.
- Risk management: Identify and manage risks associated with chartering operations, including demurrage, laytime, and voyage-related risks.
- Documentation and compliance: Ensure accurate and timely documentation of charter parties, bills of lading, and other relevant shipping documents, while ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Market research and analysis: Stay updated on market trends, shipping regulations, and other industry developments to make informed decisions and identify new business opportunities.
- Stakeholder management: Maintain strong relationships with ship owners, brokers, port authorities, and other relevant parties to ensure smooth operations and resolve any issues that may arise.
- Performance tracking and reporting: Monitor and analyze charter performance, including vessel performance, voyage expenses, and key performance indicators, and provide regular reports to management.
- Continuous process improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline chartering processes, implement best practices, and enhance efficiency.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in crude oil chartering, preferably within the petrochemical or oil trading industry.
- Solid understanding of chartering practices, shipping regulations, and international trade.
- Fluency in English and Mandarin is required, as the role involves frequent communication with both English and Chinese speaking counterparts.
