Music Teacher

Join a dedicated and passionate team of Primary School educators in establishing Invictus International School. The school is open to children 6 years to 11 years of age. We are looking for a Music teacher who possess a fun and bubbly disposition and wants to teach in a fun and engaging way. In addition to the role, the teacher would be expected to:

  • Be a form teacher and be involved in the pastoral life of the School
  • Involve themselves fully in the life of the school and play an active part in the extracurricular programme, whether through involvement in games, clubs, or drama
  • Attend parent teacher conferences
  • Assess and record pupils’ progress in accordance with departmental and school policies
  • Attend and contribute to departmental meetings
  • Develop teaching and learning resources
  • Monitor the work and progress of pupils, including those with specific learning needs
  • Promote and safeguard the welfare of all students

Key Responsibilities

  • Promote high standards in Music throughout the school
  • Assist Head of Department in long-term development and short-term management of the Music curriculum across all levels
  • Assist Head of Department in preparation of all Music assessments
  • Presenting to parents and visitors at school events
  • Communicating with or meeting parents to discuss issues related to Music
  • Integration of technology into the Music curriculum
  • Value holistic education
  • Create a nurturing and stimulating learning environment
  • Maintain the positive ethos and core values of the school.

Qualifications And Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years’ teaching experience in a Primary school environment
  • Candidates must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree in Education or other related degrees from NUS, NTU, NIE or other reputable university.
  • Must be able to speak and write in English fluently. (Lessons will be conducted in English, and communication with parents in English)
  • Candidates with experience teaching at the primary level
  • Must be passionate in learning and teaching
  • Must love working with children
  • Must possess a fun-loving, energetic and bubbly disposition
  • Must be familiar with Microsoft Office applications, e.g. Word, PowerPoint, Outlook

  • Ability to deliver, develop and manage curriculum in an imaginative and exciting way
  • Proven communication and interpersonal skills

  • Effectively manages commitments and deadlines
  • ICT competence and willingness to learn and use new technologies
  • Works collaboratively and supportively with colleagues at school and other organisations
  • Respects and values the different experiences, ideas and backgrounds others can bring to work and to teams
  • Ability to motivate and encourage participation in activities both inside and outside the classroom and a willingness to take part in / organise trips and visits
  • A generosity of spirit towards the demands of a busy international school, as the role requires flexibility and may involve out of hours, weekend and holiday work
  • Demonstrates high standards of behaviour and is able to model the School values (intellectual curiosity and scholarship, endeavour, breadth and balance, and valuing one another and the environment)
  • Emotional resilience to cope with and learn from challenging situations
