Job Description:
We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Environmental Technician to join our team. The Senior Environmental Technician will be responsible for overseeing environmental monitoring activities, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing technical expertise to support environmental management initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct environmental monitoring in both marine and terrestrial environments, including air, noise, water, and sediment sampling, in order to assess environmental quality and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Collect data from monitoring activities conducted in the field and analyze the results to identify trends, anomalies and potential environmental hazards.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations and permits.
- Assist in conducting environmental impact assessments (EIA), environmental monitoring and management program (EMMP) for proposed projects or developments.
- Prepare technical reports documenting monitoring results, compliance status, and recommendations for corrective actions.
- Maintain and calibrate environmental monitoring equipment to ensure accurate and reliable measurements.
- Provide training and supervision to junior technicians or field personnel on environmental monitoring techniques and safety protocols.
- Assist in emergency response activities to address environmental incidents or emergencies, including spill response and cleanup efforts.
- Stay updated on emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in environmental monitoring and compliance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in environmental science, marine science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in environmental monitoring and compliance.
- Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal environmental regulations and permits.
- Experience conducting environmental impact assessments and preparing technical reports.
- Proficiency in the use and maintenance of environmental monitoring equipment.
