Responsibilities:
- Evaluate, prepare, and manage digital data acquired from comprehensive geotechnical investigations of soil and rock mass conditions.
- Develop, upgrade and store project models using Leapfrog Works 3D modelling software.
- Perform geotechnical analysis and numerical modelling for various aspects of marine civil works, such as foundations, retaining structures, slope stability, tunnels, shafts construction and ground improvement techniques.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, including BIM, structural engineers, and construction professionals, to ensure seamless integration of geotechnical design with overall project requirements and timely completion of project tasks.
- Provide expert recommendations and solutions for geotechnical challenges during project planning, execution, and post-construction phases.
- Perform site inspections, mapping, and geotechnical monitoring to assess ground conditions, stability, and integrity during construction activities.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements and best practices in geotechnical engineering, incorporating innovative techniques and technologies into project designs.
- Ensure compliance with relevant safety standards and regulations related to geotechnical engineering in marine civil works.
- Collaborate and report to Geo-technical Department manager to produce geo-technical reports using relevant software such as Microsoft Office and Adobe.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Geology, Geotechnical Engineering, or related field with a focus on geotechnical engineering.
- Strong knowledge of soil and rock mechanics and geotechnical analysis techniques including borehole logging, geophysical surveys, in-situ and laboratory testing of soil and rocks to determine their physical and mechanical properties.
- Experience and a digital aptitude for learning Leapfrog Works 3D Modelling software coupled with a passion for improving models from newly acquired factual geotechnical databases.
- Familiarity with other relevant software applications such as AutoCAD and -other geotechnical design tools.
- Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to propose innovative and practical solutions.
- Effective communication and people skills to collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to quality, accuracy, and safety in geotechnical design
- Professional certification is preferred.
