The role requires the incumbent to manage and oversee all facets of the accounting functions, ensuring timely, accurate financial reporting and compliance with statutory and corporate policies. This position plays a crucial role in supporting financial decisions by analyzing financial information and advising on strategic financial planning and audits.
Responsibilities
- Financial Accounting and Reporting: Prepare and ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial statements and disclosure notes. Maintain precise journal entries, asset, liability, and capital account entries through comprehensive analysis.
- Strategic Planning Support: Engage in budgeting and forecasting activities, including the valuation of business and financial assets using various models.
- Working Capital Management: Oversee accounts payable and receivables, assess working capital needs, and devise funding strategies. Analyze the cost of capital financial instruments to optimize financial resources.
- Audit Support: Coordinate annual financial audits, liaise with auditors, and implement policies to strengthen internal controls. Address audit findings and resolve any issues efficiently.
- Technology and Reporting: Efficiently use accounting information systems for transaction processing and management reporting. Generate consolidated financial statements and business reports for internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements
- Qualifications: Diploma/Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-4 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of GAAP and SFRS. Proficiency in project/contract revenue accounting and the percentage of completion method is advantageous. Familiarity with accounting software like FreshBooks and QuickBooks, along with advanced skills in MS Excel, is preferred.
