Job Responsibilities:
Driver Management: Supervising and coordinating a team of drivers responsible for the pickup and delivery of garments to and from customers and outlets. This involves scheduling routes, assigning tasks, and ensuring that drivers adhere to safety regulations and company policies while maintaining high levels of customer service.
Backup Driver Pool: Maintain a pool of backup drivers who are trained and ready to step in on short notice to cover for absent or unavailable drivers. This pool can include part-time or on-call drivers who can be mobilized as needed to fill gaps in the schedule and prevent disruptions to delivery operations.
Load Planning: Overseeing the loading and unloading of garments onto delivery vehicles to ensure that goods are transported safely and efficiently. Optimizing load distribution to maximize vehicle capacity and minimize the risk of damage during transit.
Plant Operations: Managing the flow of goods within the plant, including receiving incoming garments for cleaning, sorting items based on cleaning requirements, and coordinating the dispatch of cleaned garments for delivery. Streamlining plant operations to minimise bottlenecks and ensure timely processing of orders.
Team Leadership: Providing leadership and guidance to the logistics team, including drivers, warehouse staff, and administrative personnel. Fostering a positive work environment and promoting teamwork and collaboration to achieve departmental goals.
Job Requirements:
- Good team player who is keen to learn, independent and with strong analytical skills, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Experienced working with drivers or in a factory environment
- Have a coachable and hardworking attitude
- Perform all duties and responsibilities timely and efficiently to achieve overall objectives of this position
- Able to communicate effectively with clients, contractors and team
