Job Summary
The successful candidate will be responsible for the creation of tooling concepts and the design of plastic Injection molds, detailing high-performance molds in 3D.
Responsibilities
- Design projects from concept thru final details
- Interacting with customers – conference calls to on-site design reviews
- Working with the shop to distribute and communicate the requirements of the project
- Participate in the First-Off Tool review and assess the suitability of the tool for production
- Report to upper management
- Identify technical risks and define mitigation plan
- Travel internationally to customer or supplier sites as projects require
- Resolving out-of-spec issues
- Be required to mentor and develop junior engineers as necessary
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirement
- Diploma in Precision Engineering, Mechanical, Manufacturing and/or any relevant engineering discipline with 7 years of relevant working experience
- Expertise in 3D modeling and knowledge in GD&T
- Experience in with evaluating and analysing tooling issue
- Proficient in AutoCAD and Unigraphics
- Familiar with Design for Manufacture (DFM) who able to develop complex designs to the point of manufacture and release to production
- Knowing the manufacturing processes and has the knowledge in plastics and elastomers
- Experience in unscrewing, multi-shot, stack and high tolerance moulds, including mechanical design
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent organizational and communication skills, including effective presentation of complex data
- Good leadership skills and a team player
- Flexible attitude towards work and eager to learn new skills
- Must be willing to work overtime as required
