Job Responsibilities
- Manage and coach a team of 8-10 nurses
- Lead and support the development needs of the nursing team
- Manage nursing manpower in the areas of recruitment and talent retention
- Acclimate new nurses to the team as a preceptor
- Ensure that team reviews and adopt measures to achieve KPI targets
- Ensure compliance to clinical pathways in management.
- Manage and maintain adequate stock of medical drugs and equipment.
- Oversee and preparing the annual budget in accordance with the organisation’s strategic plan
- Conduct assessment and devise a plan of care for all new referrals and ongoing homecare cases.
- Conduct regular home visits with the nurses to establish best practices and maintain standards of care
- Prioritise care in collaboration with patients and caregivers
- Provide patient and caregiver education on symptom control and coping skills
Job Requirements
- A state registered Nurse with at least 5 years’ experience in leadership
- Experience in Palliative Care Nursing is preferred
- At least 8 years in nursing (preferably in an acute setting - restructured hospital)
- Good management and coaching skills
- Clinical supervision skills
- Conflict management
- Able to apply both rational and creative processes
- Able to effectively communicate with various stakeholders and patients
- Sensitivity to the needs of the clients
- Demonstrates tenacity and persist under most difficult situations.
