12 months fixed term contract

Maker Lab supports clients across technology, entertainment, financial services and the payments industry. We’re looking for dynamic individuals to join our team and support our amazing clients in the tech industry.

As a Videographer and editor, you will be part of a team that specialises in crafting and curating high-impact content. You’ll be responsible for supporting the ideation, development and production of video features and formats while also contributing to the visual effects including motion graphics, digital animations and special effects.

*Please share with us your portfolio to be considered for the role.

Role:

  • You will be responsible for the ideation, development and production of video content.
  • You own the entire process and production of video content, low-touch and at scale, from ideation of creative concepts, pitching them to the team and client, to editing and exporting them for publishing.
  • Oversee the quality and progress of audio and video engineering and monitor editing of all outgoing video content, ensuring that they are optimised and properly specced for the platforms they are published on.
  • You own the creation of dynamic and compelling visual effects, editing, particle systems and shaders that meet all aesthetic, design and technical requirements for the project.
  • Participate in creative ideation and brainstorming sessions, partnering with the market teams.
  • Stay on top of global and local design, effects and editing trends and proactively share these insights with the team to experiment and develop new innovative ways of telling the client’s brand story.
  • Provide key insights and collaborate with production partners, the team, and the client, to improve workflow and post-production efficiencies.
  • Ensure the client’s brand guidelines and voice are followed closely and remain consistent in the video content.
  • Review the script and briefs and provide creative input to turn the script and briefs into a full-fledged storyboard.

You:

  • 2+ years of experience creating awesome work for top brands, preferably with a mix of in-house and agency creative production experience,
  • Proficiency in using specific editing software packages, such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects, or Final Cut Pro.
  • A good understanding of motion graphics, who knows your Adobe Creative Suite well, and you’re happy to bounce between all kinds of software (Photoshop and Illustrator) depending on the occasion.
  • An excellent storyteller with the ability to create engaging, conversational, and culturally resonant editorial narratives through the medium of video in a simple, coherent manner.
  • Some knowledge and experience with colour grading and treatment are a huge plus.
  • Proficiency in using recording equipment and shooting high-quality videos.
  • Proficiency in producing high-quality visual effects.
  • Track record of strong performance and commitment to problem-solving.
  • Highly motivated, energetic and a self-starter.
  • Exceptional verbal and written English communications and presentation skills and, ideally, fluent in another Asian language to support the projects spanning APAC.

Please note: due to the high volume of applications, only successful candidates will be contacted with a follow-up introduction email.  If you do not receive an email from Maker Lab, your application has been unsuccessful this time around.
