RESPONSIBILITIES
- Designs engineering solutions for mechanical and thermal hardware, electronics enclosures, and production tooling based on established engineering principles and in accordance with development technology practices and guidelines.
- Develops and implements parameters and test plans for new and existing designs, including validation of tolerances, form/fit/function, shock and vibration, electromagnetic interference, safety, reliability, developing fan curves, system power measurements & acoustics.
- Demonstrates comprehensive understanding of concepts and principles within their area of experience.
- Collaborates and communicates with management, internal, and outsourced development partners regarding design status, project progress, and issue resolution.
- Manages relationships with outsourced partners and suppliers, including setting expectations regarding deliverables, product quality, schedules, and costs; ensures that team members are effectively communicating and collaborating with outsourced resources.
- Leads a project team of other mechanical hardware engineers and internal and outsourced development partners to develop reliable, cost effective and high quality solutions for moderately complex products.
- Generates process efficiencies and products that meet necessary business requirements through quality documentation and project management.
- Analyzes possible solutions using technical experience and judgment and precedents.
- Represents the mechanical/thermal team for all phases of larger and more complex development projects.
- Provides guidance and mentoring to less experienced staff members.
- Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering/Mechatronics/Electro-Mechanical or Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
- Minimum 3 years of working experience in Engineering Design and Solutions or any related field.
- Good knowledge in hardware development lifecycle and product lifecycle management.
- Experience in 3D modelling and solidworks (CAD) is a plus.
- Experience in leading a team is a plus.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
