Job Summary:
The Design Engineer (Precast Design) is responsible for preparing and coordinating precast shop drawings.
Essential Job Functions:
The Design Engineer (Precast Design) is responsible, but not limited to, the following:
- Prepare and complete precast shop drawings within specific time and in accordance with the clients’ requirements and standards.
- Check for accuracy and update amendments to precast shop drawings.
- Produce precast layout plans and fabrication shop drawings of precast concrete elements for production and submission to clients.
- Liaise with clients/ consultants concerning drawing details and technical issues.
- Liaise internally with production and suppliers on the submission/ issuance of shop drawings, highlight technical issues and keep them updated of any revisions.
- Incorporate on the drawings (2D and 3D) and update any amendment openings and recesses, architectural features, cast-in-items, lifting system and any other relevant details.
- Coordinate Structural, Architectural and M&E drawings to check and highlight any discrepancy and raise RFI to finalize precast shop drawings for production.
- Request any detail required for precast shop drawings.
- Check every detail and ensure precast drawings tally with construction drawings.
- Attend technical meetings with consultants/ clients as and when required.
- Perform any other ad-hoc duties assigned.
Minimum Qualifications/ Job Experience:
- Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering
- At least 5 years’ experience in Precast Design
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, BIM, TEKLA or All Plan software
- Familiar with both structural detailing (including rebar detail) and basic architectural detailing.
