JOB SUMMARY


The role of the Director of Communications is to create and maintain awareness through a favorable public image of Capella Hotel Group and our brands by effectively communicating core messages, programs and accomplishments. The role also leads all efforts to counter negative publicity and handles crisis and emergency communications.

The person in this role is a master at the art of storytelling, and is able to understand the importance of editorial flow in written and verbal communication. Working alongside the Vice President of Marketing, the Director of Communications will act as the gatekeeper for all written material.


THE ROLE

  • Manage effective relationship with appointed PR agencies and ensures set KPI’s are met
  • Manage all direct media- and interview inquiries at the group/brand level
  • Engage with Singapore-based journalists and SEA-based freelancers to pitch stories seeking high-level placements
  • Write speeches for senior leaders and support the organisation of press conferences as and when required
  • Lead the Award strategy for the brands and all Capella and Patina properties
  • Support PR planning for HMA announcements and hotel openings
  • Act as point person leading crisis management SOPs and FAQs
  • Create standards and prepare media kits for Capella and Patina brands (e-brochure) and review properties’ factsheets
  • Help articulating brand pillars together with talking points for senior stakeholders to use during interviews
  • Prepare written content for keynote presentations for Business Development efforts
  • Responsible to review/edit any press release from group and/or properties before dissemination
  • Ensure Press pages on each brand and property websites are up-to-date as well as PR material on Bynder
  • Monitor, analyse and communicate PR results on a monthly basis
  • Contribute to drafting and accompanying annual content calendar for both brands and properties
  • Participate in the creation of brand campaigns by writing copy for ads (brand packages)
  • Review and edit copy for all EDMs and brand.com including periodic audits of existing content
  • Work with the social media team & agency to write and edit captions
  • Coordinate influencer management for brand campaigns
  • Help in reviewing a variety of promotional and marketing collateral from properties
  • Contribute to the relaunch of Auriga Wellness as well as expanding the Flow brand awareness
  • Together with Vice President of Marketing, seek opportunities for partnerships and sponsorships
  • Thought leadership engagement for President and Senior Leadership Team


TALENT PROFILE


Qualification

Bachelors’/Masters’ degree in Mass Communications or equivalent is preferred


Work Experience

Experiences in similar role and capacity of luxury brand, hotels/resorts

Prior experiences in Public Relations Management is of advantage


Technical Skills

Excellent command of written and spoken English

Competent computing skills (e.g. Microsoft Office)

Strong communicator with personable character
