APAC Category Manager, HR


The position will focus on the creation of regional and at times local commercial strategies, approach to market and subsequent contractual agreements for the HR Category which includes Talent Acquisition (recruitment and contingent labour), Learning & Development, Talent Management, Payroll Services, Global Mobility services and Total Rewards.


The person in this role will work closely with the global HR function as well as regional, local stakeholders and partner with procurement colleagues to implement procurement strategies in a matrix organization. This role will also be engaged in supplier relationship and performance management with HR strategic and critical suppliers, working with senior JLL Business leaders and stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design, recommend and approve regional or local category strategies with the business, stakeholders and ensure successful implementation,
  • Guide and support the business in scoping, contractual framework, commercial terms and vendor engagement goals for prospective strategic partnerships,
  • Lead commercial and contractual negotiations on behalf of the business, with a strong focus on project management, facilitation, and supplier development to meet both parties’ collaborative goals,
  • Conduct regular pipeline and status meeting with key business stakeholders, endeavouring to engage at the earliest stage possible in the buy/build/partner decision process,
  • Maintain contracts library for the third-party HR category, filing in Jaggaer, ensuring renewals/expirations are addressed,
  • Develops key strategic relationships with suppliers and industry leaders, providing support to the business in the structuring, planning and execution of regular supplier performance reviews,
  • Shares market intelligence, best practices and provides category expertise, advising on capabilities and best fit with the business’ HR strategy and long-term ambitions,
  • Provides functional leadership and peer group alignment, where appropriate and needed
  • Support the supplier diversity and JLL’s sustainability programs; making sure that we work with ethical agencies and standards as part of the sourcing process and support the Inclusion and Diversity agenda through our supply chain,
  • Carry out supplier risk management and mitigation plans.

Sound like you? To apply you need to have:

  • Minimum 5 - 7 years of experience in strategic sourcing or category management in HR,
  • Skilled in commercial contract language review/mark-up and experience in drafting of new commercial language for unique engagements,
  • Ability to synthesize key recommendations from amounts of market intelligence,
  • Collaborative style with a focus on teamwork,
  • Strong ability to influence without authority,
  • Proven ability to deliver results in challenging environments with entrepreneurial spirit,
  • Expertise in sourcing and a skilled negotiator and with demonstrated ability to manage change,
  • Excellent inter-personal skills, organization skills, strong analytical ability,
  • Ability to work on a regional and global scale and across different time zones,
  • Excellent communication skills – oral and written,
  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in relevant field, MBA is a plus.
