Role and Responsibilities:
1) Determining the confidentiality, integrity, quality, technical, health and safety aspect of the company.
2) Perform lab Financials planning, management and execution
3) Oversee lab operation – Strategic goal planning and execution, and control, planning and management of laboratory operations
4) Drive, define and accomplish capabilities uptaking
5) Perform validation of results & report issuance (for signatory)
6) Perform SOP review & write-up
7) Plan method studies and tasks
8) Plan & execute PT testing
9) Lead by example
10) Advocacy and enforcement of EHS, integrity, compliance and ethics
11) Evaluate staff performance
12) Manpower & resource management, control & hiring
13) Escalation of lab issues & problems
14) Liaison between lab and management
15) Researching improvement ideas towards lab operations
16) Spearhead improvement plans & execution
17) Identifying and developing new areas of work and the corresponding test equipment required.
18) Highlighting unusual results and referring them for further investigation.
19) The interpretation of standards in accordance with operating manual.
20) Supervising all work related to the section(s).
21) Training and supervising all staff in the section(s).
22) To conduct internal audits, QC checks, equipment maintenance & calibration, result entry & validation.
23) Performing report issuance (for signatory), purchasing & inventory management, SOP review
24) Ensuring that all equipment in the section(s) are calibrated in compliance to schedule.
25) Ensuring that the requirements of SAC-SINGLAS in the field of bunker oil testing are met
26) Oversight of all the testing in their respective laboratories
27) Checking and signing of all appropriate reports issued by the laboratory.
28) Discussing test results with customer as necessary.
Requirements:
• Minimum Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Process Technology, Chemical Engineering, Science, or equivalent with 12 years related laboratory experience.
• Experienced with method-related tasks
• Possesses SAC Singlas signatory and laboratory operation and management experience
• Minimum 6 years as a laboratory manager, including proven technical knowledge and laboratory experience
• Experienced in audit & CAPA management skills
• Fluent in English
• Excellent managerial skills.
• Ability to multitask.
• Expert knowledge of laboratory health and safety protocols.
• Interacts with operational personnel, scientific personnel, and department management.
