Job Description:
The laboratory of EpiMetaGenomics (https://bensonchenlab.com) is seeking to recruit a skilled and motivated research officer interested in functional genomics. We are particularly interested in candidates with expertise in high-throughput sequencing, microbiology, molecular biology, and cell culture techniques. The candidate will work with a team to develop in vitro and in vivo functional assays, collect and process tissue samples, and assist in the day-to-day operation of the lab. Job duties & responsibilities:
1. Laboratory maintenance: assist in organization and upkeep of laboratory supplies. Take on administrative roles where necessary, such as procurement of lab supplies, lab safety oversight… etc.
2. Laboratory procedure: perform various biological assays, including PCR, DNA/RNA purification, protein extraction, bacterial and mammalian cell culture.
3. Carefully and thoroughly document all procedures performed and results generated
4. Communicate, design, organize, and conduct the experiments efficiently. Complete assigned tasks on time.
Requirements:
- Bachelor Degree in relevant fields with previous experience in a research lab
- Solid knowledge in molecular biology
- Highly motivated and passionate about scientific research
- Ability to follow protocol precisely and have excellent communication skills
- Team player and have a strong motivation to achieve the goals
