Responsibilities
- Technical Due Diligence and Evaluation: Conduct comprehensive technical assessments of potential investment opportunities, evaluating factors such as technical fundamentals, protocol design, competitor differentiation, and scalability.
- Deal Sourcing: Proactively engage within technical communities to identify and source promising investment opportunities, leveraging networks and industry insights to uncover innovative projects with significant potential.
- Technical Translation: Translate technical language from project whitepapers, mechanism designs, and risk prospects into clear and concise insights for the Investment Committee and other key stakeholders to support investment decisions.
- Market Analysis: Provide valuable insights and recommendations to the investment team based on technical analysis and market trends, guiding investment strategies and portfolio management.
- Portfolio Management: Maintain regular follow up with portfolio companies, reviewing their technical fundamentals, project status and providing strategic opinion while also raising pertinent questions when necessary.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 5-8 years of experience in the technology sector, demonstrating leadership as a team leader, consultant, or project manager, with proven track record of providing technical solutions.
- Candidate with 1 year or project-based experience in blockchain technology, and Web 3, with technical understanding across areas such as Layer 1s, Layer 2s, zero-knowledge proof applications, and cross-chain messaging protocols, is highly preferred.
- Knowledge in JavaScript, Rust, Solidity, Circom, and other relevant programming languages.
- Strong understanding of cryptography, including expertise in elliptic curves, zero-knowledge cryptography, SNARKs, STARKs, and fully homomorphic encryption, is highly preferred.
- Previous experience in venture capital, private equity, or startup ecosystem is advantageous.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts effectively to both non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills for establishing positive relationships, enabling effective collaboration with project stakeholders and C-suites management.
- Passion for blockchain technology and interest in staying abreast of industry developments and emerging trends.
