Job Description
The successful candidate will work with Antonia Monteiro on quantifying gene expression as well as hormonal differences across male and female damselflies that have a female-limited color polymorphisms under a project on The molecular basis of male-mimicry in damselflies
The main responsibilities of the position include:
Performing RNA-Seq, hormonal extractions and analyses, to identify factors that vary across the sexes and/or across the different female forms, that can later be tested for causation using functional experiments.
Qualifications
• Qualifications / Discipline: PhD in Evolutionary biology
• Skills: Bioinformatic skills, molecular biology skills, expertise in insect husbandry
• Experience: prior expertise in damselfly collections and rearing
