Job Description

The Department of Mathematics at the National University of Singapore (NUS) invites applications for the full time position of Teaching Assistant. The appointment will be on a contract basis, renewable based on performance.


Primary Responsibilities
1. Conduct tutorial classes ( 10 - 12 hours per week during term time) primarily for the course HS1501 Artificial Intelligence and Society.
2. Facilitate group discussion to help students with their projects and give constructive feedback.
3. Hold consultation hours
4. Help lecturers prepare course materials
5. Invigilate and grade assessments
6. Monitor online forum

3. If available, evidence of effective teaching; e.g. student feedback and evaluations
4. Teaching Philosophy: A statement of teaching philosophy, including goals and approaches
5. Teaching History: A summary of modules taught (if applicable)

Qualifications

1. A Bachelor's (Honors) Degree in Mathematics/ Applied Mathematics/Computing/Data Science or related areas.
2. Teaching experience is preferred.
3. Able to convey information in a clear, concise, and interesting manner.
4. Able to work cooperatively as a member of a team and manage groups at the undergraduate level.
5. Critical thinking skills; Creativity; Technology skills; Knowledge and interest in current affairs related to AI.
