Business Development Manager

Reporting to the Regional Business Development Manager, this position will spearhead business development and serve as the primary sales and operational growth engine for the Preferred Sales Representatives in South APAC, focusing on India and Thailand for the Royal Caribbean International Cruise brand.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop sales and business development strategies with the trade partners in the assigned territories within South APAC markets to drive business growth
  • Responsible for profitable revenue generation from travel partners
  • Manage and assess total investment spend including overrides, tactical programs, and marketing co-op to maximize ROI.
  • Develop new sales areas and improve sales through various channels.
  • Conduct market research in the business industry and create new opportunities to expand business
  • Responsible for physical in-market engagement with the trade partners and provide training to ensure complete transfer of knowledge of the company, brand and update our clients with the latest information on itineraries, pricing and product enhancements.
  • Conduct business reviews with trade partners to assess business performance and identify opportunities to exceed targets
  • Coordinate all sales meetings and conferences, trade shows and other sales activities within the South APAC region. This will involve managing and conducting cruise shows, seminars onboard, ship tours product training with our travel partners and doing sales presentations for clients.
  • Review sales contracts to ensure travel partners meet legal and corporate guidelines
  • Prepare Annual Operating Plan, including market plans and strategies with travel partners and review/revise/execute activities on quarterly and monthly basis
  • Ad Hoc, timely and accurate communications of Sales Performance information to the Regional Business Development Manager and Director of Sales

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university
  • 3 -5 years of regional sales experience strongly preferred.
  • Travel industry background strongly preferred.

  • Sharp negotiation and networking skills
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage tight deadlines
  • Ability to travel independently to provincial areas within the assigned territories
  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal/ written communication skills
  • Must be aggressive, self-motivated and a self-starter
  • Must have strong organizational and presentation skills
