The School of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering (MAE) is looking for a research fellow to conduct research on design, simulation, optimization, and fabrication of mechanical metamaterials with desired mechanical properties.
Key Responsibilities
- Design mechanical metamaterials with desired mechanical properties by leveraging computational modelling and machine learning optimization.
- Conduct experiments involving additive manufacturing, material characterization, and mechanical testing of the designed micro/nanoarchitected materials.
- Deliver project millstones timely and summarize research findings for publication.
Job Requirements
- PhD degree in solid mechanics.
- Extensive experience in micro/nanoscale fabrication and computational modelling of mechanical metamaterials.
- Ability to combine experimental and computational methodologies to accomplish research objectives.
- Good interpersonal, presentation and communication skills.
- Good publication track record.
