BAR MANAGER
- Deliver a consistent high quality of service to guests through a sound working knowledge of the all beverages and bartending skills; and professional pride in delivering exceptional guest experiences.
- Interact extensively with guests on the shop floor, building guest loyalty, recognition and a reputation as the preferred destination for its selection of beverages, impeccable service and memorable guest experiences.
- Create an environment that is enabling and empowering for the entire team, through a well-defined broad framework of operational guidelines supported by sound product knowledge, clear understanding of roles and interdependencies with other functions required in making the Bar operations a success.
- Encourage, organize, monitor and impart on-the-job, behavioural and experiential training to all members of the team, with clear objectives and method of quantifiable evaluation.
- Be well-informed on current trends, styles and developments in the Wine and Beverage industry, proactively recommending new offerings in alignment with the bar concept.
- Determine and document comprehensive service standards / guidelines including cocktail recipes, and ingredients, provide and supervise prompt, efficient, courteous service to all guests per the established service standards / guidelines.
- Oversee and assist in the day-to-day Bar operations; including conducting team briefings, and assisting in bar opening and closing.
- Prepare the annual Operational Budget and Marketing Plan, prepare monthly forecasts of day to day operations and planned events and activities for the period, and monitor all expense heads to ensure profitability levels are achieved without compromising the quality of the guest experience.
- Coordinate and execute sales and marketing activities for the Bar; monitor and enhance online and social media presence.
- Maintain the bar front and back of house; ensure appropriate handling of all equipment and supplies within the Bar; resolve any defects in equipment, furniture and fixtures ensuring they remain fresh, functional and inviting.
- Maintain security procedures for management of keys, stock control and staff security; manage beverage stocks.
- A Degree/Diploma in Beverage or Wine Management with four to five years’ experience of working in and/or successfully managing an independent or standalone outlet.
- Proficient in all aspects of Food & Beverage operations for an upscale bar operations.
- A keen financial understanding of the Bar Business and co-relation to Finance and Sales & Marketing.
- A well-presented, expressive professional, comfortable in building cordial acquaintances with guests, vendors and employees.
- Sound understanding / experience in preparing and analysing various financial and other related reports to plan and monitor financial objectives of the operation.
- An experienced skills trainer who is able to impart, prepare and modify course materials to meet present requirements.
- Excellent written & oral communication skills with high levels of comfort using social media networking and other similar applications.
- Strong working knowledge of food and wines.
BARTENDER

- Make knowledgeable recommendations to guests from the beverage and wine selection.
- Possess a sound memory for names, faces and guests preferences, enabling an enhanced experience for repeat guests.
- Have comprehensive knowledge and understanding of wines, beers, spirits and cocktails with the appropriate service specifications and procedures.
- Set up the bar with required equipment, accessories and supplies prior to the commencement of service for smooth operations.
- Operate the bar with sound work practices and experience while engaging guests seated at the counter as well as servicing guests seated at alternative casual seating; while being able to remember and repeat orders and keeping the areas clean and presentable at all times.
- Recommend changes in bar inventory to the Food & Beverage Manger based on guest feedback and current trends.
- Follow without exception all procedures for cash, stock control, lost property and pilferage.
- Remain well-informed on current trends, styles and developments in the Wine and Beverage industry, proactively recommending new offerings in alignment with the Bar concept.
- Maintain designated areas and equipment in clean orderly condition at all times, reporting any malfunctions / breakages / repairs to the Bar Manager.
- Diploma/Degree holder with three-five years’ experience of successfully working as a Bartender in an independent or standalone outlet.
- Proficient in all aspects of Wine and Beverage Service operations for an upscale bar operation.
- A keen sense of observation / eye for detail with a good memory for names, faces and preferences.
- A well-presented, expressive professional, comfortable in building cordial acquaintances with guests, colleagues and co-workers.
- Strong hands on practical working and theoretical knowledge of wines, beers, spirits and cocktails with a desire to learn more.
