The Commercial Manager will work closely with Category Planners and Inventory Deployment teams to influence Franchise Partner’s seasonal sales and inventory plans necessary to ensure flawless in-store execution. They will be responsible to drive new initiatives that support regional distortion of product with a focus on maximizing sales.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for driving both topline sales growth and profitability, with a focus on assortment distortions and inventory productivity.
- Develop a close working relationship with cross-functional partners including, but not limited to: Regional Leads, Merchandising, Category Planning, Inventory Deployment, Marketing, Operations, and Visual.
- Own quarterly strategic alignment meetings with Franchise Partners to review assortment and inventory plans. Influence, build consensus, and agree on future updates of plans.
- Understand Domestic and Victoria’s Secret International merchandise strategy and work to maximize opportunities and minimize risk.
- Educate field leaders and Franchise Partners on company assortment, tier & inventory strategies to inform business decisions.
- Advocate for a distortion strategy for each quarterly floor set that ensures achievement of business plans and captures new trends in the business at a regional level.
- Drive and inform global strategies in partnership with inventory deployment by establishing a scalable approach to store analytics, reporting and hind sights that drive action.
- Participate in Internal conversations highlighting risks, opportunities, and areas of focus to drive the business and manage inventory in region.
- Work closely with in-field teams and Franchise Partners to understand customer nuances, store modifications, seasonality shifts, and competitive environment on a regional and store-by-store basis.
- Proactively provide customer and store feedback, market specific analytics and trends, and assortment opportunities to home office cross functional partners.
- Leverage formal hindsight to support future buys/distortions.
- Collaborate with cross functional partners to manage the inventory support for new store/new market openings.
Experience:
- 5 - 7 years merchandise planning, financial planning and analysis, with operations experience a plus
- Strong retail math and analytical skills
- Excellent organizational, prioritizing, and problem-solving skills
- Experience working effectively and urgently under changing circumstances
- Ability to drive results through strong attention to detail and accurate communication
- Ability to draw conclusions from extensive data and present it in an understandable format
- Excellent Excel skills, and relevant knowledge of Word, PowerPoint, Access, and Micro Strategy.
- International experience a plus
- International travel 3-4 times a year
