Responsibilities:
- Oversee and cultivate a customer portfolio in the maritime insurance industry.
- Examine insurance risks pertaining to cargo, ships, and other marine operations.
- Work together with clients to comprehend their individual insurance requirements.
- Provide clients with customised maritime insurance options that guarantee sufficient risk coverage.
- Securing the best rates for clients requires you to negotiate marine insurance plans with insurance firms.
- Handle the maritime claims settlement procedure and offer expert counsel.
- To guarantee effective management of policies and claims, keep good working relationships with insurance firms and service providers.
- Keep an eye on the marine insurance industry at all times, looking for new trends and opportunities.
Requirements:
- Minimum of five to seven years of demonstrated experience as a marine insurance broker or in a related position within the marine insurance sector.
- Outstanding understanding of marine insurance, including P&I, income loss, marine liabilities, and coverage for ships and cargo.
- Excellent interpersonal and negotiating skills are necessary to work with clients and insurance companies.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the dynamics of the worldwide marine insurance market.
- Analytical skills to evaluate risks and find appropriate coverage options.
- Outstanding English communication abilities, both written and spoken.
- A bachelor's degree in a related field insurance, maritime commerce, maritime management, etc.is preferred.
- An advantage will be a network of contacts within the marine insurance sector.
- Applicants having prior insurance brokerage industry job experience (and, if any, reinsurance experience) will be at a distinct advantage.
- Obtain a minimum of a Certificate in General Insurance (CGI) or any other comparable credentials accepted by MAS.
- Works with the Office 365 suite from Microsoft.
