We’re looking for a UX Design Manager to join our UX & Design team. This position is full-time and based in Singapore and reports to the Director of UX & Design. This role is great for UX Design Managers who revel in stakeholder management, excel in facilitation of design/technical discussions to help drive consensus, love solving wicked problems and want to have a say in the long term vision in how we provide a seamless experience to our customers and scale up our operations to bring our content to a larger audience in the future. At Viki, you’ll be essential in providing a world-class service to our users while our business is scaling up.
Responsibilities:
- Managing and coaching a team of 3 designers
- Driving holistic design solutions that provide great experiences to our customers, front to back, from designing the apps and website to designing our internal tools that help deliver great Asian content that our customers love watching
- Collaborating with Product, Business (Content Operations, Customer Support, Marketing etc.) & Engineering teams to understand, research and translate requirements into solutions
- Mapping out the different user journeys in more detail
- Storytelling chops, bringing these user stories and insights to life
- Presenting insights and rallying the cross-functional team to co-create solutions
- Developing user flows, UI specs and mock-ups as needed
- Creating design prototypes, micro-interactions and transitions
- Conducting usability tests
Requirements:
- BS/MS in Interaction Design, Product Design, or a related field a plus
- 8+ years of experience as a professional UX Designer
- Experience in leading a team as a people manager
- Creative. See things differently and come up with solutions that solve problems
- Exceptional attention to detail and organization skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to interact with both technical and non-technical people, strong opinions loosely held
- Driven by data and research, designing and analyzing workflows to support key business objectives
Preferred Qualification:
- Experience working in start-up and/or media company environments
- Experience working in an international company and/or love of global entertainment or cultures
What success looks like for this role:
- After 3 months: You have taken UX ownership of your responsible areas
- After 6 months: You have led and helped deliver UX (and Business) success across multiple projects
- After 1-1.5 years: You have been influential in shaping the long term vision for these areas, helped define what’s required from UX to get there, managed team members to achieve these goals, and have helped develop your team members in their growth
