Job scope –
- Provide guidance to process technicians on key parameters, plant operating instructions, equipment preparation for maintenance, process troubleshooting, operating plans, and safety concerns.
- Supports process control and data systems such as distributed control system (DCS) and plant information monitoring system.
- Conduct process evaluations, technical feasibility studies, process trend analysis, and provide technical leadership for the continued operation of the facility.
- Support the Commissioning Team during plant start-up, performance test, optimization and prepare documentation.
- Prepare and review Standard Operating Procedure, PFDs, P&IDs, material, quantity, heat and mass balances, utility and consumable balances, and technical data sheets for major equipment items.
- Provide the required technical support as technical lead in the plant reliability and productivity improvement projects.
- Liaising with the operation team in the control room on a daily basis.
- Ensure safety at the sites through compliance to safe operations and practices at all times.
- Liaise with authorities with regards to all matters with proper documentation.
Requirement
- Minimum Bachelor Degree in chemical engineering or petrochemical engineering.
- 2 years’ working experience in a petrochemical plant or oil refinery is an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of chemical process, and chemical process safety handling.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, excellent spoken and written skills.
- Exceptional problem solving and analytical skills.
- Basic knowledge of AutoCAD and any other CAD design software is desirable.
- Able to work independently and a multitasker.
