Responsibilities:
- Execute risk management and workplace safety and health management system (WSHMS) plans.
- Develop WSH training courses.
- Encourage the development of WSH-related skills and training.
- Train staff members to support audit checks and perform regular activity checks on the job.
- Examine data regarding WSH conditions, performance, and procedures.
- Assess hazardous work practices, circumstances, and noncompliance with WSH regulations.
- Assess the effects of risks to health and safety.
- Perform investigations into WSH incidents and accidents.
- Organize WSH program activities.
- Stay up to date with legislative requirements.
- Provide safety instructions.
- Review documents related to WSHMS reports.
- Manage risk controls and the ordering of personal protective equipment.
- Conduct workplace inspections to confirm that risk controls are being used.
- Evaluate the goals and policies set forth by WSH.
- Create WSH protocols in coordination with other team members.
- Promote the establishment of WSH procedures.
- Ad hoc duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Safety or equivalent.
- Registered Workplace Safety & Health Officer (WHSO) with at least 5 – 7 years of experience in Safety Management or Workplace Safety role
