Intensive EAL Homeroom Teacher [Primary]
XCL World Academy is seeking to recruit a highly-qualified and experienced Intensive EAL Homeroom Teacher [Early & Primary]. This is a full time contract position, starting from 1 August 2024.
Preference will be given to teachers who are multilingual– especially in Chinese, Japanese, Korean. Preference will also be given to teachers with a background in WIDA Assessment practices, implementing the WIDA Standards, and Sheltered Instruction or CLIL.
Main Responsibilities
Contributes positively to the collaborative culture of the School.
Demonstrates professional ethics, international mindedness and the school’s mission.
Adheres cooperatively to XWA policies and regulations, including duties, deadlines, programme requirements (IB).
Seeks clarification in case of lack of clarity in order to fully meet all expectations of the role and sets and maintains consistently high standards.
Contribute to the development of curriculum and assessment documentation.
Person Specifications
Preferred minimum 2 years of relevant EAL and HRT (Homeroom Teacher - Primary Years) experience from International School.
Undergraduate degree from a recognized university or college.
Teacher professional certification specific to applied position with an ESOL endorsement - (preferred over a CELTA or DELTA).
Possess skills and attitudes aligned to the purpose, mission and vision of XCL World Academy (Singapore).
Need tolerance for ambiguity, clear eagerness, resilience, flexibility, and well-grounded confidence to engage and collaborate in the development of a highly aspirational program.
Have a demonstrated commitment to education and learning beyond the classroom.
Be flexible and willing to take on new challenges.
Clear track record of teaching in international school settings will be required
