Description:

We are the Research Data Integration group, at Bioinformatics Institute, A*STAR.

We are looking for a research officer to assist with various projects in the lab related to big data in precision medicine through the use of data science tools such as machine learning and pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic (PK/PD) modeling. The research officer will be expected to perform bioinformatics-related tasks, such as multi-omics analysis, compile and manage databases, and execute basic PK/PD models and analysis in R. On the job training will be provided for pharmacometrics expertise, a highly sought after skill in the field of drug development.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical and dry-lab support to the team’s research activities.
  • Assist with hands-on experiments and operations including immunofluorescent imaging and blood sampling for PK analysis.
  • Follow analytic procedures and instrumental operation guidelines, plan and execute experiments independently.
  • Perform data collection and analysis, present progress reports, and manage research data and notes.
  • Maintain lab inventory and procurement of laboratory consumables.
  • Engage in literature review and research discussion.
  • Assist the team with the maintenance of smooth and safe operation in the working environment.
  • Ensure project deliverables are met in a timely manner and to the highest standard.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Pharmaceutical Science, Life Science, computer science, chemical engineering, or pharmacy-related discipline.
  • Basic data wrangling skills in R.
  • Good understanding of pharmacology concepts
  • Familiarity with PK analysis software such as Monolix, WinNonlin and/or NONMEM is a plus.
  • Minimum one-year data science research experience required.
  • Good organizational skills and ability to multitask.
  • Highly motivated, keen to learn and committed to laboratory work.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills.
