We are a leading construction company based in Singapore, having established strong ties with government agencies and main-contractor companies over more than two decades of commitment. With a proven track record and a strong reputation in the industry, we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Accounts Manager to join our team. As an Accounts Manager, you will play a crucial role in driving business growth by acquiring new clients and effectively managing existing accounts.
Responsibilities
1. Business Development
- Identify and target potential clients in the construction industry, focusing on large government and international main-contractor companies.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers in the target companies.
- Develop and implement effective strategies to acquire new business and expand our client base.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, market conditions, and competitors' activities to identify business opportunities and gain a competitive edge.
- Collaborate with the team to create compelling proposals for prospective clients.
2. Account Management:
- Manage and nurture existing client accounts, ensuring client satisfaction and retention.
- Regularly communicate with clients to understand their needs, address any concerns, and provide timely updates on projects and services.
- Act as the main point of contact for clients, responding promptly to inquiries and resolving issues efficiently.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including operations, finance, and project management, to ensure smooth project execution and delivery of services.
- Conduct regular business reviews with clients to assess performance, identify areas for improvement, and upsell additional services where appropriate.
3. Financial Management:
- Coordinate the financial aspects of client accounts, including invoicing, payment tracking, and collection.
- Work closely with client’s finance team to ensure accurate and timely billing, resolve payment discrepancies, and minimize outstanding debts.
- Monitor account receivables and follow up on overdue payments, ensuring compliance with company policies and contractual agreements.
4. Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare regular reports on sales activities, account performance, and revenue forecasts.
- Analyze sales data, market trends, and client feedback to identify areas for improvement and make data-driven recommendations to senior management.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client interactions, sales activities, and account details.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Accounts Manager or in a similar sales/account management role within the construction industry, preferably working with government and/or main-contractor companies.
- Strong business development and client relationship management skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities, with a customer-centric approach.
- Solid understanding of financial principles and experience in managing accounts payable and receivable.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Microsoft Excel
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Self-motivated with a proactive attitude and a strong drive to achieve targets.
