LEGAL & COMPLIANCE MANAGER

Job Summary:

The Legal & Compliance Manager is responsible for all areas of logistics/transportation including process design, safety, compliance with DOT regulations, cost efficiency for the team, and customer service. Work with other teams to resolve logistics related issues and provide customer support, when needed. Analysing moderately complex contracts, researching and preparing draft contract specifications, policies, and procedures, interpreting contract requirements to vendors, contractors, clients, and recommending contract changes based on observable needs.


Roles & Responsibilities

· Ensures business processes is following the relevant legal guideline in an ethical manner while meeting its business goals.

· Responsible for developing compliance activities, reviewing company policies, and advising management on possible risks.

· Develop and oversee control systems to prevent or deal with all the legal guidelines and internal policies.

· Evaluate the efficiency of controls and improve them continuously.

· Identify risks or non-conformity issues, draft, modify and implement company policies.

· Monitor enforcement of standards and regulations with collaborate with various department

· Identify possible compliance risks with assessing the business future ventures

· Identify compliance issues and provide advice or training.

· Keep abreast of regulatory developments within or outside of the company as well as evolving best practices in compliance control.

· Prepare reports for senior management and external regulatory bodies as appropriate.

· Managing litigation right from issuing/responding to notices to formulating litigation strategies to closely following up on matters with external counsel appointed by the Management

· Assisting & providing legal advices for Merger & Acquisition, Due Diligence, and ah-hoc matter.


Requirements

· Degree in Legal or related studies.

· At least 5 years of experience in a legal/compliance counsel/manager

· Experienced with China Entities, state-owned enterprises in China will be added advantage

· Good knowledge of legal requirements and procedures ideally within the trading or FMCG & supply chain management

· Good knowledge of the industry standards and regulations

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

· Bilingual in both English & Chinese
