Job Description
As the legal Counsel & Compliance Officer, you will be responsible for providing legal and compliance advice and support to the business. The role entails offering guidance on corporate and regulatory matters, overseeing legal & compliance programs, and facilitating training. You will be required to liaise with multiple stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Provide legal advice and support on business operations and growth initiatives
- Provide compliance guidance on business initiatives, analyzes alternatives and solutions to the business
- Be the legal and compliance subject matter expert for the business to enable business growth in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, compliance policies and industry code of practice
- Partner with relevant stakeholders to implement the legal and compliance program
- Support the Global Compliance and Audit teams in conducting audits for assigned country
- Work with the ASEAN and APAC Compliance regarding compliance management/ initiatives and delivering compliance training
- Support the Privacy Project and other tasks as required
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree, preferably business or law related / or Compliance Certification
- Post Qualified Experience of about 3-5 years and experience with MAS, KYC, Anti-money Laundering and some experience with funds will be an added advantage
- Proactive, objective and possess an aptitude of risks and controls
- Attention to detail and possess an enquiring mindset
- Good verbal and communication skills in English
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
