Overview*
We are looking for a fulltime research engineer for research projects related to robotic endoscopic procedures. In particular, the research engineer will be involved in projects that focus on developing
support structures for robotic endoscopic procedures.
Job Responsibilities*
The selected candidate shall perform a variety of functions related to research under the supervision
of the Principal investigator or his designate:
Main research activities
- Design, modify, enhance support structure for robotic endoscopic procedures.
- Perform ex-vivo experiments.
- Perform first-in-human clinical trials.
Other job responsibilities include.
- Assist the Principal Investigator in submitting progress reports.
- Coordinate and prepare documents on study-related meetings.
- Maintains study-related progress, provide regular verbal and written study updated to
Principal Investigator
- May also be involved in other research projects as assigned by the Principal Investigator
Related performance indicators
1) Successfully designed a working prototype of the support structure for use in ex-vivo
experiments and first-in-human clinical trials.
2) Successful performance ex-vivo experiments and first-in-human clinical trails.
3) Weekly verbal updates to Principal Investigator
4) Monthly written progress reports to Principal Investigator
Requirements*
Qualification and Required and Area of Discipline
Master/undergraduate in mechanical, biomedical engineering or related fields.
Required Competencies and Capabilities (Skills, Experiences and Professional Licences)
Knowledge of medical tools/instruments, mechanics is an advantage.
Knowledge of electronic sensors is an advantage.
Has previous hands-on experience in designing biomedical engineering products?
Team player with good verbal and written communication skills
Able to work independently, write and present progress reports.
Project managements capabilities and experience in dealing with engineering and medical
personnels.
Ability to multi-task and work under tight timelines
Good analytical and organizational skills
Excellent communication, problem solving, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
