HSE Officer
Working Day : 5-days (Mon-Fri), 8 am to 4.30 pm
Work location: Jurong Island (Transport provided at Jurong East)
Salary: $4,500 to $5,200/month
The HSE Officer reports to the HSEQ Manager and is responsible for all HSE related matters
in the Company.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and develop the HSE Management System, including periodic reviews with other departments.
- Lead in the preparation and submission of the Safety Case to the Major Hazards
- Department (appointment: Safety Case Lead).
- Assist in the assessment of HSE risks and impacts.
- Collaborate with Line management to resolve HSE issues.
- Participate as a team member / team leader in risk / HSE assessment team, risk management, management of change, etc.
- Monitor and analyze work conditions and HSE performances for continual improvement and compliances with the relevant legal requirements.
- Liaise with the external agencies on HSE-related regulatory matters.
- Complying with all the responsibilities of a WSH Officer as specified by the Ministry of Manpower in the Workplace Health and Safety Act.
- Coordinate PS Reviews (or product risk assessments) and submit the result to Singapore Chemical Industrial Council (SCIC)
- Investigates workplace incidents and recommends measures to prevent recurrence.
- Assesses relevant HSE legislative changes and initiate necessary changes for compliance.
- Schedule and co-ordinate the Company’s HSEQ Committee meetings, Plant
- Inspection Patrol and Plant Cleanup.
- Ensure that corrective action(s) are taken to eliminate HSE-related hazards.
- Monitor potential HSE hazards (recorded from such patrols) in cases where corrective action(s) require time to implement.
- Promote HSE activities in the Company and In-house contractors.
- Plan, organize and execute 5S activities.
- Participate in Process Hazards Analysis activities.
- Liaise with PS&R (Product Stewardship & Regulatory) PIC of head office and conduct
- tasks in accordance with the requirements
- To perform any other duties or assignments as assigned by superiors.
Requirements
- Diploma / Degree in Engineering, health, safety, or environmental field of study
- Working experience in the chemical industry
- Deep knowledge of Safety legislation and regulations in the chemical industry
- Registered with MOM as Workplace Safety & Health Officer is preferred.
