Job Description:
· Chartering in of tonnage to perform and balance company’s cargo book
· Chartering out of tonnage to employ company’s current fleet of vessels
· Negotiating and trading of charterparties for tonnage and cargo contracts
· Ensuring timely performance and meeting the requirements of charterers
· Developing new business across all sizes and regions
· Managing and improving relationships with existing brokers, owners and charterers
· Communicating and cooperating internally with worldwide offices as well as externally with brokers, agents, owners and charterers
· Rating of cargoes from charterers and developing new routes, cargoes and markets
· Following and managing voyages with operations department and post fixture to ensure smooth performance
· Collecting and analysing market information, trends and developments
· Taking ownership and responsibility on new projects
· Travelling for the needs of the company and clients
Job Requirements:
· 4-7 years of experience working in the dry bulk sector either as owners, operators, brokers or charterers
· Fluency in English is highly preferred
· Thorough knowledge of standard chartering practices, charterparty terms and trade requirements
· Experience in negotiating and closing of business deals
· Good communication and interpersonal skills
· Independent, proactive and ability to perform well under pressure
· Adaptability and openness to the ever changing international environment, sensitivity to different working cultures and practices
· Strong problem solving skills and outside the box thinking
