Role Overview:
As the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing all financial and accounting activities within the company. You will manage company accounts, investments, and work closely with the management team to provide accurate financial reports and advice for decision making. Your role is crucial in streamlining our budgeting, payroll, and financial reporting processes to ensure financial stability and growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL and Counsel, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
- Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances.
- Prepare and present timely monthly and annual financial statements.
- Support month-end and year-end close process.
- Collaborate with auditing services to ensure proper compliance with regulations.
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
- Ensure that all financial transactions are properly executed and documented.
- Collaborate with all relevant stakeholders in order to guarantee group reporting.
- Reviewing the month-end closing process and consolidation of the group financial statements and inter-companies’ reconciliation.
- Support the operation team to maintain a smooth operation form a financial point of view.
- Ensure compliance with local tax regulation, liaising with external tax advisors as necessary.
- Manage relationships with external stakeholders, including government bodies and banks
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Financial Controller or similar role.
- At least 8 years relevant experience in finance or accounting preferably in a financial control or auditing environment.
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
- Experience with creating financial statements, general ledger functions, and the month-end/year-end close process.
- Excellence accounting software user and administration skills.
- Strong attention to detail and confidentiality.
- Advanced degree in Accounting, Finance, or relevant field, supplemented with being a Chartered Accountant (CPA/CA)
- Experience in the broadcast or media industry is a plus.
- Bilingual in both English and Chinese is a must as frequent liaising with stakeholders from China and Taiwan
- Strong understanding of tax compliance, corporate tax, withholding tax and GST.
