Roles and Responsibilities:
With an in-house mentor, you will be exposed to a diverse field of knowledge and experience and be well-grounded in areas such as;
· Servicing and maintenance
· Site Acceptance Tests (SAT)
· Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT)
· Licensing of electrical installations
· High voltage switching
· Troubleshooting of electrical faults and abnormal situations
· Design & Project Work – Acting as a Qualified Person (QP), LEW for installation works, also covering areas such
as Lightning Protection, HT and LT distribution network, Earthing etc.
· Manage and lead of a team of engineers, technicians and workmen to ensure works are completed as per plan
and schedule, meeting quality & safety objectives,
· Manage and co-ordinate with clients on schedules, scope of works, on-site issues, etc,
· Attend to call-out and emergency job requests,
· Prepare incident report for completed call-out services,
· Prepare method statement and assist Professional Engineer as required,
· Other ad-hoc duties as assigned by management.
Career Progression Plan:
We invite engineering personnel who intend to embark on a career in the private sector as a hands-on electrical professional. The experience gained in this role will help candidates attain their goals of:
· Attaining of a PE Certificate,
· Attaining an LEW Grade 9 Licence (22 kV), allowing you to practise in the consumer market,
· Attaining a SP PowerGrid Authorised High Voltage Testing Engineer Licence allowing you to carry out Switchgear
Testing Works in SP PowerGrid sub-stations, and/or
· Becoming a professional and business leader - leading and managing the company's operations and business.
Job Requirements
· Minimum 5 years of related experience in electrical industry
· Possess a recognised Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering as per the Professional Engineers Act (Chapter
253)
· Good communication, interpersonal and time management skills.
· Possess strong leadership quality, team work, good planning and organizing ability.
· Takes initiative for personal and professional development.
· Due to nature of the work responsibilities, able and willing to work on weekends, public holidays, overnight and
odd hours.
