The Technical Manager is responsible for providing project planning and management for established initiatives within a company. Technical Manager coordinate with trade managers (M&E, Structural and Architectural) to ensure that projects are completed to specification, within an established time frame and budget. The Technical Manager is the lead subject matter expert within the company regarding technology concerns and industry expertise to improve all aspects of project planning and resource management.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Lead and manage the project team in coordinating design drawings with consultants to comply with requirements of the authorities.
- Review and provide solutions to technical problems as well as planning, monitoring and reporting work progress for building & civil projects.
- Provide guidance in preparing technical submissions for materials, construction methods and shop drawings.
- Lead the project team in resolving construction issues on drawings and liaising closely with Architectural, Structural and M&E teams and the authorities.
- Establish and implement training processes and strategies for all technical personnel
- Analyze, plan and develop requirements and standards in reference to scheduled projects
- Hold regular technical team meetings to determine progress and address any questions or challenges regarding projects.
- Determine and define clear deliverables, roles and responsibilities for staff members required for specific projects or initiatives.
- Research and evaluate hardware and software technology options and weigh the cost/benefit analysis when making large purchases on behalf of the company
- Develops a strategy for the development and deployment of new and emerging building construction and civil engineering technologies.
- Develops metrics to qualify and quantify criteria for success for new technologies within the business.
- Oversees the integration of new technologies and ensures selected technologies are consistent with business initiatives and technology architecture.
- Develop project execution strategy including, logistics plan, equipment deployment plans, construction methodology, manpower, project schedule. Discuss and suggest technical proposals
- Implement improvements to the Company’s operations so as to raise productivity and reduce wastage
- Ensures compliance with the approved BIM Execution and BIM Scope Plans
- Responsible for the development, coordination, publication, and verification that all necessary configurations required for seamless integration of design and construction model information have been implemented and assures information is provided at milestone submittals
- Study with the Project Manager to provide the optimum constructability for the project
